My wife saw a picture in a magazine where they'd done trim around the side of the tub on the floor. I thought it was a bit unusual but she liked it. She wanted it done in the guest bath so I decided to use PVC trim. Never used it before and it was interesting. The tub is curved so I scribed it then cut it with the jigsaw. The blade got hot enough that it melted the PVV as it went through it then the PVC hardened again and the two pieces wouldn't come apart. Then I discovered I had to put the PVC on a 2x for support because doing the edge treatment it was sagging between the sawhorses.

Yup. That plastic stuff isn't structural at all. It's insidious... It won't go where you want it, and it won't stay where you put it.

I was at a county park today where they had used some of the composite deck material for some benches and picnic tables. Most were badly sagging, one table had the bench parts of the table touching the ground in the middle. Sad :SComment

what saw blade did you use on the jigsaw? did it have small teeth? plastic likes big teeth.Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. - Thomas EdisonComment
