I've just about finished painting the house, and needed more of the trim color. So, I tried to get the label off the top of the can, but it would have disintegrated. I copied the formula and headed to HD. I give the guy the formula and he goes to the computer, comes back and says that the exterior satin base isn't being used anymore, but can mix the same color with another base.
He does a sample and coats the end of a stir stick and puts it under the heat gun. When dry, I look at it and it just looks too light to me. He says it's the proper mix. I needed 2 gallons and the guy says if he mixes it, and it's wrong, I can't bring it back.
So, I decided to wait, bring home the stir stick with the color and see if it matches. Well guess what. It was too light. The moral to this story is bring a painted sample to the store for a match.
