And I'm sure all they need to give you your money is your bank account numbers… and maybe $200 for "processing fees."

There is a "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act". But I'm cynical, too. Until the check is in my sweaty little hand, I wouldn't count on it.

I never see any of that stuff. They just take it off of whatever I'm owing them at the time. They are kind enough to let me know (eventually) that's what they did, however.

Yep, you are cynical. This is the govt answer for us retirees who don't work and get paychecks and get his, what, $13 a week reduction in taxes in your average paycheck. This is what the SS recipients get instead and is supposed to either be sent automatically in either a check or direct deposit depending on how you get your SS. It's on the up and up. I've been waiting for mine to buy more turning supplies, yea!!!

My April pension check was fatter due to reduced federal with holding. Good thing, since dog food is up in price.

Got Mom's letter last week stating that a one-time payment of $400 would be coming. Why couldn't they just send the check along with an explanation of why you got it? How many millions could that alone save? Oh yea, it's not enough 'to matter'. Sounds like the one son-in-law who won't do the little cost savings things for that same reason. I just say, "You save enough, not enoughs and you'll soon have more". I was raised by depression era parents who knew how to squeeze a penny 'til it screamed for mercy!

WE haven't go out letters yet, probably tomorrow. We will put it away for something special we want to do. Will stop there before I go on a rant.

UPDATE

Got ours today found out the woodworking show is in town, so the stimulus check will do me no good this weekend. Beside the State Fair grounds want $10 to park so I probably won't go.
