Or, for the procrastinators who know they will receive a return, you don't have to file until later in the year. April 15 is only for those who must pay. Uncle Sam doesn't mind if you continue to loan him your interest free dollars.

EDIT: This was incorrect. You can get fined for not filing if you are getting a return but it never happens. Fines are based on how much you owe, not how much you recieve. Always gotta check your sources, mine for the the above info was slightly incorrect.

well i am one of those procastinators. last year i sent me taxes in on oct 14. i filed for an extension. i know, you can all kick me in the rear for the interest free loan that i gave to uncle sam, but i was helping the ailing economy, right?

so this year, i dont want to procastinate past the 4-15. so i need your prayers or positive energy because since i made this post, turbox is still sitting on my desk infront me and have not installed it. instead i am on my motorcycle site reading up on yet another mod!!

I have my W2 adjusted to end up owing a little at the end of the year, or at least I did before kids and all the other tax deductions.

Our taxes are filed and federal refund came back a few weeks ago. still waiting on the state one. they are slow this year, but at least have not given us an IOU...

If you have money coming back, they already got their loan.

Gotta get mine done......gotta get mine done. And yes, I gave them an interest free loan, although a very small one.

Had mine done before Christmas, just had to wait on the paperwork. Waited till the last week of February for mailing it in. Back, and stashed for future project(s?). But I am now worried/wondering, what effect, our "tax cut" is going to do to me this year. I prefer to get money back, even though it is a free loan, after seeing peoples various emergencies over the years. (I know my luck)
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

I did give Uncle Sam a fairly large interest free loan last year....

Turned out to be my bestinvestment return for the whole year.

41 years ago LOML declared that I was too stupid to take care of our money so she was going to do our income tax return. HA, Ha, Ha. She is still doing our taxes and has for all those years. And she was right, I am too stupid. We will get over 4K$ this year.
                      regards,

Ended up owing some this year as they were done by mid Feb. Will stick the payment in the mail tomorrow. No sense in getting there too early!!

Boss does the taxes for us and both boys with TurboTax. Usually gets theirs done and procrastinates on ours since we get a small return, if any. This year she got all of them done. Youngest got divorced last year and had to file single; wound up owing $1700. With sale of stocks we were worried and wanted time to get the payment to them. With the added deductions for her student status, we got a little over $2K back. PLEASANT SURPRISE!

Mine was sent 2 weeks ago. I have a pretty hefty rebate on the way which on one hand is good but it just shows I didnt earn as much last year - no suprise there

As I run my own business and have to make quartlerly payments to stay within the "safe harbor" I dont have a lot of choice about making loans to uncle Sam. I do readjust in Q4 but you still end up with a rebate. One result of a less than stellar year is those qtrly payments will be a lot less this year so I just need to do better this year and owe money next year...
