    Bug Spray, h#ll,

just step on the darn thing. They are getting everywhere now, and we've gotta step on 'em before they populate the whole place. Their just like roaches, they breed and breed and have thousands of little one!

Hey at least you can see the Smart car. The new one from India is the Tata Nano, but who'd want a small boobed auto?

Looks more like a 4 wheeled death trap. One good smack and your road paste.

And the one I saw today that prompted this post was weaving in and out of four-abreast traffic at 50-mph like she was driving a tank. She's not long for this world, I'm afraid...

You probably wouldn't feel anything while running over one of those. I've driven an Isetta, and they are scary.

I would love to own one of those. Beats riding a few blocks on a bicycle in the rain. My home town has less than 2000 people. LOML and I have been discussing retirement and if we want a "50 cc scooter" for local (1k trips) that we are so used to over here. Sure hate to crank up an oversized (for the distance) 20 mpg car for a one mile round trip to the grocery, hardware store, cafe, post office, etc. These becomes a two or three times a day outing of less than two mile each - almost every day. My little home town has more 4 way stops, stop signs and stop lights than any town of its size that I know.

I can't see those running on a highway for sure.

Should be some good deals available in the used market soon... Just use your compressor to re-inflate the thing to its original shape, then hose out the goo that used to be the previous owner, and you're set...

I can't believe that some people drive smart cars around here during the winter! The way our storms are, I would want something bigger than a snow bank.

Well, believe it or not, the Smart Car achieved the IIHS highest ratings for front / side crash tests (for small cars of course):

                    http://www.iihs.org/news/rss/pr051408.html

And nope. I wouldn't take one out on I-35 with all the BIG trucks!

The last creative description of crash survival in a smart for two, which I read sometime last year, went on about the design having been based on the characteristics of a walnut. The last time I cracked open a walnut, it took a fairly hefty hammer blow - and the meat inside survived quite nicely. And a lot people around here also run them all winter - if the snow bank is too big, two people get out and carry it

I've seen one or two around town, and like another poster said, they were driving it like it was indestructable. Since I drive a full size Ram 1500 Crew Cab, I nearly took them out myself when they cut me off in traffic.

I wouldn't mind a small(er) vehicle like this for running errands, etc., but even if I were driving like a sane person, there are too many idiots on the road for me to get one. I say this, yet I ride a motorcycle. At least one the bike, it's only my life and not those of my family.
