The Direct Marketing Association has a Deceased Do Not Contact registration procedure here:

    https://www.ims-dm.com/cgi/ddnc.php

I used it to stop mail solicitation for my parents and an uncle that came to my address after I was executor for their estates.

They also have a registry in which you can record your mail preferences for what you want and don't want in the mail.

A great idea - UNTIL you lose your job and have unforeseen medical issues and get behind on your own and your kid's payments. Don't do it.

Besides, a FICO score is not nearly as important as they make it seem. You want to help your kid out, start putting money aside for them. A 24 year old buying a house with no credit record at all, but a 20% down payment will not have a problem finding a lender.

Better yet, teach them to save and not buy anything until they have the money - a lesson this country seems to need to learn over and over and over... To quote Dave Ramsey - "Debt is dumb."

You know, I was thinking about this. Why don't you follow suite with the times/ government and just use the card to run up a huge debt that your kid will eventually have to pay off?
