One more thing to watch out for in the shop

I was just out in the shop and had a nice kickback on the TS because I just about jumped out of my skin. I jumped, the board lifted and there she went.

Now, the family knows if you open the door to wait for me to acknowledge them and that works well. Unfortunately STS-119 didn't seem to know that rule. It sounded like someone took a baseball bat to the garage door and hit it twice about 1-2 second apart when the shuttle went over.

Note to self, keep track of when the shuttle is landing in FL and schedule power tool use so as not to be doing anything dangerous during the flyover window.

When I walked in the house the wife was awake from her nap wondering what had just happened that shook the house.

I always keep track of the landings, and make sure I am not napping, working, or handling tools when it's due... BOOM BOOM... Shakes the ground, and everything up from there.

I guess I didn't know that the landing shuttle creates sonic booms.

      Glad you're okay.

You're either gonna have to know the schedule, or get the word out a little better. I hope nothing got hurt with the missle.

Do you know about kickback? Ray has a good writeup here... https://www.sawdustzone.org/articles...mare-explained

I'm jealous. Here in Illinois, I've only been able to hear the sonic booms once, when the shuttle approach was highly unusual due to a special orbit.
