    SyncBack

A while ago I posted about needing to synchronize folders in XP. I tried rsync, but there were some issues with it and file permissions when moving to Linux. It works beautifully in Linux though. A coworker told me about a freeware program called SyncBack. I installed it yesterday and it works well. You can either back up data or sync two directories..You can also schedule the jobs you want to run.

Thanks for the update. Since my laptop is my only Windows machine I may need this.

Also, since you have been using Linux on the laptop, how has your battery life been?

I have used SyncBack for a couple years. It works well, though I did need to do some filters so that it would ignore some system files that it kept hitting errors in copying. These were files that were continuously being modified.
If you can read this you assembled wrong.

Just fine as far as I can tell. If the battery level indicator in Linux is accurate, I haven't lost any time over Windows. I generally am not using it past 1.5-2hrs on battery though.
