    $6 million woman

Would you give your right arm for $6 million?

Not sure how I feel about this. I think I agree with the verdict. Personally, I'm kinda fond of my extremities too.

That's why half-page drug ads in magazines are followed by two pages of fine print.

I think drug ads ought to be banned. For one thing, I'm sick of hearing about ED or prostate problems while I'm eating dinner and watching the news. More importantly, I'm not convinced most people are smart enough to heed the warnings.

On the other hand (with apologies to the MDs on this forum), my brother has had several run-ins with doctors who don't listen to him. He's in the hospital right now being treated for what appears to be a bowel blockage connected to his Crohn's disease. He also has epilepsy. The hospital doc who's treating him has not been forthcoming about what she's ordered or why. In his case it's pretty important because he's had adverse reactions (Dilantin poisoning) from poorly coordinated treatment in the past. He can help the docs avoid making mistakes, but only if the doctor's cooperate. One has already quit his case because she apparently doesn't like even a hint of being second-guessed.
