Interesting... spitters are notoriously ill-tempered, but do prefer to spit rather than bite for defense. My guess is that the vibrations from the car overloaded its sensory capacity and confused it to the point of distraction from the people.Comment

I've always been told not to allow hitchhikers in the car. I've picked up many people, but never a hitchhiker like that.
