This morning, when I got to work, I pulled into the parking lot, climbed out of the car, and messed my back up again. Just from climbing out of the car! I've been to my physio today and that helped a little and I'll be seeing my doctor at 8:00 tonight. Back to the stretching and heat pads.

Richard, I hope you speedy recovery.
But I have to agree with Shootx, you will just have to give up work! You can not go through life doing things that harm/hurt you. So give it up and just kick back and enjoy the easy things in life, (working with wood comes to mind).

Richard, I've been there, done that with the back pain and I hope you get better quickly.
I've been trying for 42 years to get better now, and nothing I've tried has worked, if yours stops hurting, let me know what worked!!!

Richard,
I know this sounds counterintuitive but you might want to talk to your therapist about exercises that strengthen your core - abs and obliques (sides), hamstrings and thighs. Your back is not really supposed to do anything more than hold your spine in place. Your legs and abs are much bigger and stronger muscles. Strengthening those will help with your back problems.David

I saw my doctor tonight. She has said it was just a set back from the original injuy. I have to continue with the physio and another month of modified duties at work. I go back in a month for follow up.From the "deep south" part of Canada

I feel sorry for you, Richard. I know how easy it is to just turn the wrong way, and feel the pain. Hope you feel better soon.
EdDo you know about kickback? Ray has a good writeup here... https://www.sawdustzone.org/articles...mare-explained

Been there, done that. I was laid up for 3 weeks once just from turning into a room. No, I didn't actually 'turn into a room', I was going into a room and made a turn... ah, forget it!
I had my spine pushed down when my shoulder hit a piece of steel at full force in 1983. Ever since then, it goes out about once every 1-2 years, making me bedridden for anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks at a clip. As much as I hate exercising, I found it was the only thing that worked long term. Stop exercising, back goes out again. Nothing strenuous, only stretching exercises, just time consuming (about 45 minutes a day).. A good physical therapist should be able to tailor the exercises to your particular problem.

Richard, hope you are feeling better very soon. But I tell you, this thing is not gonna go away. You need to continue with your exercises, physio and still one wrong turn will put your back out! Get well soon. BTW don't overlook the "work" theory that Shootx has offered

Hope your back gets back to normal SOON. As Drillman88 said there is no telling about backs. I suffered for years with back problems, then one day in the middle of an attack, all of a sudden the pain went away and I haven't had a repeat since. Go figure!RuffSawn
