    Thanks

This is something I have been thinking about for a little while now, and the recent post on my second bench made me go ahead and do it.
I really appreciate that we can share our work and ideas with the members here and not have to worry about people putting each other down and getting nasty with no purpose.
It is rare today that such civility exists within a group that is so large and comprised of so diverse a population. It seems if people can hide behind a keyboard and bash each other they are quick to do so.
The ability to openly exchange information, ideas and points of view without having to worry about having to have field a lot of moronic insults can only make us better woodworkers and people.
This is really the only site I post my work and ideas and it because you have made me feel comfortable.

    Thanks again,
    Chris

Likewise on both counts - Youre welcome and thanks to all.

I read and lurk on various other sites (not just WWing) but this is the only one I contribute to on a regular basis. It is a great online community from around the country and the world (Ray, Lee, and of course our dustless OCD friend from down under to name but a few).

Collectively there is many years worth of expereinces, not just in WWing, and that we are able to share and help each other out without some of the "nastiness" that can somtimes be seen on some other forums is why this one stays open on my desktop all the time.

Its been positive to see a bunch of new members joining and as they see the value of our community begin adding to the "collective."

Keep up the good work and words, one and all...
      Jon

Taking offense at typed words on a screen may mean one should re-evaluate their priorities. Sometimes humor can be misunderstood. At times we don't even get a thank you, or the poster just lets his/her post just die out with no response to the help. So, to hear a thank you is what makes this all worthwhile. This is a great site, with a varied collection of good talent and information.

Thank you for the thank you.

Nice of you to say but moreso, nice way of reminding us of what we share here: a brother/ sisterhood of sorts. In an ever-increasingly stressed society this thing called 'civility' is becoming more and more scarce. Thans for the post, Chris
            Blessings,

Nice post, Chris. We can thank Sam and Adele, as well as the others who keep watch over the site. It's rare, but if things get going the wrong way, they're right on top of it. The members of this site have been great about keeping it a comfortable place to be, long before I ever found it. Thanks to the membership for making it a good place to visit every day.

Couldn't agree more. This is the only forum I post to and, while we have had some disruptive postings and problems, cooler heads have always seemed to prevail. Only rarely have the moderators had to intervene.

The good that circulates through our 'little' corner of cyberspace far outweighs the minor disturbances.

                  .

Seen all to many times when someone either doesn't know a poster (new poster getting a response from an old timer), or lack of smiley's and such (sarcasm), you can't always tell ones tone from what they write.

There is a lot you can't tell about a person by what/how they write.
