Yesterday I attended the Canadian Home Workshop woodworking show in Toronto, Ontario. Aside from vendors, seminars and demonstrations, they have booths for adults and kids to try their hand at woodworking. Over at the kids woodworking booth, who do I see guiding young hands but our own Turaj. He wasn't busy at one time I walked by so we sat and had a good chat. So kudo's to you Turaj for giving your time for our youth. I'm sure there were a few little woodworkers who left with lasting memories.

Great of you to give your time to the kids, Turaj. I would probably make it to about the 3rd kid and use him to demonstrate resawing!Don, aka Pappy,

That is very nice to hear. Turaj, I know there are some very happy boys and girls out there right now.David

I think Turaj is working the show all weekend. I first met Turaj on the a Canadian forum and it was he who directed me here when I bought my BT3. I knew he was working the show so I sought him out. Just as nice in person. I watched him working with a little guy who was just tall enough to see the top of the spindle sander and his proud dad looked on while Turaj explained every step they were going through. From the "deep south" part of Canada

Thanks Richard, Thanks everyone! This is a very nice surprise for me. It was really great to see you Richard, and I enjoyed our chat. It is always great to meet other forum members face to face (Richard and I visit this site and two Canadian sites rather frequently so it felt as if I had already knew him).
As Richard said, I just finished three days of working / helping / having fun at this year show. Working with kids is certainly different and has its own challengesbut one smile at the end of the project, specially from younger ones (they are supposed to be between 7 and 17 but today I worked with one that was just under 6), is all you need to keep you going for the whole day. I am sure some of those kids will remember this day and the project for a very long time (I made sure they put down their name and the date on the bottom of their project). Speaking of the project, this is the one that we were making, and I think for the 3 days we did between 350 and 400 of these:
... and just to be clear I do get paid a bit for my time (I hope in about a month) that I turned around, put a bit more on top and bought one of these (my tool gloat):
All and all it was great fun and I look forward to doing it again next year, but now I am just going to put my feet up and enjoy a nice cold beerTuraj (in Toronto)
