    Computer question

I am finally getting a new laptop and giving my old one to my daughter. My question is this.....Is there an EASY way to transfer about 6 years of favorite websites that I have been saving?

    Thanks in advance,

    IE or FF?

FF is "bookmarks" then "organize bookmarks" then "import and backup" onto a disk.

IE is "file" then "import and export" then "export favorites" onto a disk.

the same menus apply for importing them onto your new computer but you'll choose "import" instead of "backup" or "export"

this also works for transferring them between browsers.

Look under my computer/documents and settings and your user name and you will find your favorites in there you can just save them and copy to your new computer.

Save them to a disk? No floppies anymore hardly. If you save them to your hard drive, if you use webmail, upload it as an attachment, and mail it to yourself. USB key or (waste of space) compact disc. But with Emailing to yourself, you can keep a copy for future use.

I have full intentions (multiple machines) of building a webserver someday, and making them all weblinks on a page.

If you use Firefox, get Foxmarks. Then you can synch the bookmarks, etc between the PCs. If you use Firefox but don't want Foxmarks, install Firefox on the new then copy this folder from the old PC to the new:

          Code:
          C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox
Where 'User' is whatever your username is. That will pull your entire profile over.

Get a (free!) account at Del.icio.us which will make your bookmarks portable.
