    I find it sad and depressing, but living without such a soul mate can be devastating. So, actually the circumstances seem "right".

      My friend's mother died of heart problems about 3 months ago, and his father finally passed last week. They were both in their mid-90's and had lived independently until about a year ago.

      Being in my profession, I've become a lot more philosophical about dying. We all have to go sometime. There are very few tragic deaths, only unexpected or inconvenient ones. Like Nelson Rockefeller's.
