“Doctors are men who prescribe medicines of which they know little, to cure diseases of which they know less, in human beings of whom they know nothing”--Voltaire
I've learned that a ticket entitles me to transportation and anything else is a bonus. When I fly, I bring work or reading to keep myself occupied. On domestic flights with no food, I bring my own. On flights with food, I very have modest expectations.
It's the "security" checks that get under my skin. Once I'm on an airplane, I'm in heaven. Especially if it's United and Channel 9 is tied to the cockpit. Just ask my wife.
It shows so many of the British (but particularly English) traits in high-class sarcasm and the ability to make a serious point with levity. It's an excellent example, which I would have been proud to have written.
