    Snow removal, part two

The V8 powered snow blower still requires you to, 'get out there and do it', so we take it to the next level.

Snow removal Chicago style, or how to relax and still get to work on a snow day!

No need for high tech stuff. Just have as many shovels as kids. For example; I have two kids and two shovels. No coincidence there

Growing up we had lots of shovels but only one kid at home. I got to use all of the shovels!

By the looks of it, it would be spring before he got the driveway done.

As slow as that thing moves it would be the next day before he got out of his driveway. Plus it's only shoveling 1 inch of snow. Let him show a video of it doing more than 5 inches of snow and I'll be impressed.

It's a nice idea but it needs a bit more refinement. I guess I normally wouldn't care how long it took as long as I wasn't waiting while it ran.

My concern would be how effectively it could keep clearing snow with the stubby arms and apparently a fairly weak lifter. In the video it had trouble lifting the 4-5" pile of snow on the blade (it tipped and most fell off before it was lifted), then the arms only raised the snow ~12-18" and dumped it maybe 1' past the side of the driveway. It wouldn't take a very wide driveway or very much snow to build that snow-hump up past the point where it couldn't reach over it to dump the snow.

Now a blower unit would solve that problem, but I don't want an unmanned arm mangler chasing me around my driveway, too Stephen King-ish...

I thought it was kinda slow and wimpy. Nice idea though. There also needs to be a better way to find the boundaries of the driveway other than metal tape.
