    Animal Planet Show: Lost Tapes?

I just stumbled upon this show while taking a break from studying and saw the whole episode titled "Devil Dragon" and I still have the heebie jeebies from watching it.

Was this thing for real or fake? That freaking episode still bothers me and I can't concentrate. Hope to God that it was fake.

There is evidence to support its existence, though long ago. Today's Komodo dragon bears many similarities, although not nearly as large. It's mouth is so septic that immediate medical attention after a bite is critical. Worse than a venomous reptile.

The video showed a Komodo dragon, a close possible relative. Whether any still exist is unknown. For your protection, keep your doors locked.

Actually not much worse than a human bite or a cat bite for that matter. I've seen people require fingers amputated for both kinds of bites.

Disagree. It's not the strength of the bite (which is not strong, because it doesn't have to be), but the massive bacterial cocktail that is bred in the mouths of these things. They feed on rotting meat. They drool copious amounts of toxic saliva 24/7. There have been documented human fatalities from septic blood poisoning within 3 days. So profound is the effect that people used to think they were truly venomous, ala the gila monster or beaded lizard. These things hunt full-grown deer in the wild by biting them and waiting around for them to die from the infection. A lot worse than a cat bite (unless the cat is a tiger).
