A while ago I posted this thread on backing up profiles in Firefox. I was able to move the profile from my Windows XP machine to Linux by moving the profile directory and renaming it to the default one on Linux. Now all my bookmarks, etc are here on the Linux box. If you didn't want to go about renaming things, you could probably also move the .ini file as well.
