Yep! I run into BIG slotted screws on many of the commercial doors (for store fronts) and we can ALWAYS crank 'em out. Even when they've been there for 20+ years. And not only that, once they're out we can clean 'em up and reuse them!

Those JIS screws drive me nuts.. It's on all my R/C gear and my motorcycle.

If anyone is looking for JIS drivers McMasterCarr sells a couple sets.. #000-#1 and #1-#4
I looked through the online Snap-on catalog and couldn't find em.

For wood working I like the trim head square drive screws.

I just discovered the joy that is square drive a couple of weeks ago. Very nice system, I like the way they stick on the bit. My only slight annoyance is when I need to re-do a screw, they don't cam-in the way a Philips does so there's an extra fiddly step when I screw up.

Anyway, I bought a set of the Spax screws from Menards after I saw them in the McFeelys catalog. They are really, truly, superior to regular drywall screws. The no-splitting thing is no joke, I threw them in all kinds of ways and they're markedly better. They're a combo-drive, but I liked the square method quite a bit.
