Why data-mirroring is not data-backup

      Get them in a bank vault. Few things (somewhat) publicly accessible that are more secure.

        That is actually where some of my critical stuff is, like my wife's business records. However, that takes removeable media such as DVD, tape or even a USB key. An external drive to do a complete system backup is worth squat if your house burns down. If pictures of the kiddies truly are priceless, then store them offsite.
