Finally - after mulling over it for a year or more - I bought my new vehicle :

It's a 2008 model, V6 and 4-wheel-drive.
Started out looking for a used car to keep the cost down, then pondered new ones to leverage the spate of discounts everybody said I should get from dealers. But Toyota never offered me anything more than their regular $1200 off for 2008 models, and the resultant $23K tab was too much for me.
Ended up purchasing this - of all places - on Ebay! It has 18K miles on it, so I guess I got it cheap : $17k out-of-the-door after tax/tag.
Seeing that I was willing to pay that for an older vanilla model , this is a practically new car, and the V6/4WD was a cherry on top. And with the OEM warranty still on for 3yr/36k miles, I should be covered for most.
I was ready to pay the shipping for out-of-state vehicles, but this seller is in miami, so even managed a test-drive before purchasing.
Got it home on Christmas eve, and drove to the Kennedy Space Center on the weekend. Sweet drive, and great power!
