              You guys are trying pretty hard. I'm surprised the question of finish took a while to come up. Here's a clue: The only finish on it is waterbase polyurethane...no stain, tint or dye.

                It's got some open pores, but they're not closely spaced. It also has the color like some of that Austrailian Ironwood, don't know about the grain though.
