    Hey! Hank Lee! Ice Cream!!!!

Anyone see the Modern Marvels show on Ice Cream (MY weakness!). I just watched it tonight.

What caught my eye was the flavors of ice cream available in Japan:

    Eel

    Snake

    Wasabi

    Ox tongue

So, Hank, ever tasted any of these?

If not, want to volunteer to be a guinea pig for us?

Just think, if good we could import them and make a $$$$$!

NO, I won't be a guinea pig for this. I can't even stand the green tea ice cream. I have to eat it on occasion as it is given to me in a few places by well meaning hosts.

I probably would try Wasabi just to see what it tastes like. As to the others, one lady and I got into a discussion on this a few years ago and brought up "fish" and "steak" flavored ice cream as well discussing those scents and a few others in perfumes and colognes.

The weirdest flavor that I have had was a few years ago in Osaka - my youngest daughter saw a flavor that reminded her of what we make at home: Rock Salt Ice Cream. She asked for a taste and made me get a sample also. VERY SALTY, No sugar!

The weirdest ice cream flavor I have tried is GARLIC!!

This was at a restaurant in CA called the Stinking Rose.

Everything on the menu has garlic in it. Unless you really hate garlic then its worth a try, the smell of the room is not as overpowering as you may imagine.

Never tried it, but lobster ice cream is readily available in Maine.
What really iritates me is trying to find plain old chocolate in a premium ice cream. I really don't care for plum blueberry gum with anise and lead accents!

I went there a couple years ago when I was in San Francisco to visit friends. The garlic ice cream was awesome stuff!

Although.... It's possible that I had burned out my taste buds from the rest of the meal, since everyone else thought I was crazy. You really pay for it the day after - you can smell the garlic on your sweat (and other things)...

Fish? Steak? OMG! And I thought the flavors I posted were strange! No accounting for taste.

And they have those scents in perfume? Sorry. Can't imagine going out with a lady that smelled like herring!

The conversation started with the fact that the average marrying age is somewhere around 28 or 29 and the population was about to go into decline. We discussed what would attract men to women and women to men more. Besides the obvious attraction, the second attraction was the way to a man's heart was through his stomach - and that through attractive scents. Naturally, food scents came up! LOML was present (FYI ), and while normally talkative, only commented that she wasn't about to wear any kind of perfume like that.
