    Less tools at costco?

I have noticed that there used to be a whole aisle at costco for tools, now it almost less than 2/3 of one side of an aisle. Is this a just a local thing or national trend? Over the years I have picked up some decent hand tools now and then. It is sort of sad to see less tools.

I'm not sure if it's a national thing or not. But I do know that you need to know what specific tools cost at competitors before buying from Costco. I have a DeWalt CMS that I bought at Home Depot, with a price match from an online source (they don't all do that, but if your lucky you get a good manager). Right after I bought it, I was at Costco, and they had it. But the price was higher than what I paid.

Noticed the significantly reduced tool selection tonight when I wandered through.

Probably not a bad idea for them too reduce if not eliminate. Prices don't seem to be the best. It has been a while since I bought something from them. And that was a PC nailer years ago for $68. My BT3000 came from Costco (courtesy Santa).

Like anything at costco, you can normally do better at other retailers at times if things are on sale and you use coupons.

I don't visit Costco as much but Sam's gets a load of tools in spring, then around Christmas, and fades off in between. With a lot of the shopping slowing down, I wonder if that plays a part,(Christmas shopping) and wonder what spring will bring.

Nope, its national. I too have noticed fewer and fewer tool items in our local store.
