I have never ever seen Family Guy. I'm afraid it will be one of those mysteries of life I will just never discover.

I give up. What does the Family Guy have to do with the Trashmen?

Peter Griffin (the father on Family Guy) hears the song at a 50s theme diner and spends half the episode driving his family insane by repeatedly singing the song. I guess you had to be there...

If it was a 50's-themed diner, it would be a little ahead of its time. The Trashmen started in Minneapolis in 1962. They are still around and played in Milwaukee recently.

Last weekend as I was driving back from Madison a local radio show played an entire hour of music by the Trashmen, Al Casey, Dick Dale and other icons of the surf rock scene. If it hadn't been below freezing outside, I think I might have gone to buy a surfboard. Not that there's anyplace to surf in western Wisconsin...

Yeah. In the episode a worker at the diner takes the record out of the jukebox and says it was from the 60s. Peter says he doesn't care and takes it home.
