If it was a 50's-themed diner, it would be a little ahead of its time. The Trashmen started in Minneapolis in 1962. They are still around and played in Milwaukee recently.
Last weekend as I was driving back from Madison a local radio show played an entire hour of music by the Trashmen, Al Casey, Dick Dale and other icons of the surf rock scene. If it hadn't been below freezing outside, I think I might have gone to buy a surfboard. Not that there's anyplace to surf in western Wisconsin...

Yeah. In the episode a worker at the diner takes the record out of the jukebox and says it was from the 60s. Peter says he doesn't care and takes it home.
