    No good deed go unpunished

I guess the universe felt it had to even the balance yesterday.

I went to the blue borg to get some paint for the plantation shutters I am making for LOML. I'll do a separate thread on that later...

As I'm walking through the parking lot I notice something on the ground and realize it is a wallet. So I take it inside and turn it over to the service desk folks. Good deed accomplished I head off to the paint section.

All I wanted was a quart each of enamel primer and eggshell white paint. I can't find it so I ask the paint guy and it just goes pear shaped from there. He walks me down the aisle and points it out, except it is gallon containers of water base latex. I point this out and he walks me a bit further and points again. Got the quart right this time but still WB latex. I explain again that I was looking for enamel and he responds with...wait for it..."It's the same thing".

I gently point out they aren't the same. His response is "They'll look the same".

Walk away, I just walked away. I'll head over to the Sherwin Williams store after work and hope the gods are done using me as entertainment.

I hope that you got the enamel. Unbeknownst to me our state abolished all enamels or at least the ones that didn't meet certain VOC standards... ok, it's pretty much all but a tiny, odd few products. I live close to the WV state line and I get mine there.
    Blessings,
    Chiz

I think you have to specify water base or oil base, even in Florida.

If there is anything in the US that needs some regulation, it's the paint industry. It drives me crazy that they can call anything they put in a can anything they want. It is strictly a trial and error process to figure out if a coating will do what you want it to do.

Now there's an idea... Make everybody have to use a "paint pharmacy"...
