    102 year old grandmother passes

I got a call from my mother Saturday morning about 6:30 stating that my grandmother was not doing too well. I rounded up my daughters and we took a two hour road trip to see her for what I figured would be the last time my girls got to talk to her. It was a joyous trip and I had some good times with my girls telling them to think about all the woman has seen in her lifetime. Since 1906 the inventions and things we now take for granted have been enourmous. She never owned a car and never even had a drivers license, but she was there for all of us when any one of us needed her.

Fast forward to this morning when my sister called to tell me she passed about 8 this morning. My grandmother had 11 kids (6 surviving), and I can't begin to count the number of grandkids, great grandkids and great-great grandkids that she will leave behind. She will be sadly missed.

I am heading home for the rest of the week and will probably not be on as much as normal. Have a great week and keep me and my family in your prayers.

Here is a picture of my grandma, my mom and my sister taken June 9th, 2007 at her 102nd birthday party.

I often think about all the changes I've seen in my lifetime. She has seen many more, living a full life. Prayers on the way for all.

She surely must have been a deep pool of wisdom having seen the comings and goings of us humans over her lifetime. Prayers of peace and comfort go up for you and yours.
          Blessings,
          Chiz

            Grant,

This is very sad news, but I do hope it is tempered, somewhat, by your knowing what an extraordinarily long life your grandmother was fortunate enough to have. You and your family will be in my thoughts during these difficult first days.

Grant, I am sorry for you loss and your family will be in our prayers. I have a great grandmother who is 103 (I think) and up until a few years ago she was full of stories and things when she would see some new technology that one of us had. I love looking at some of her pictures of when she was a kid and how they went to take the garbage to the dump, a horse and wagon.

God Bless you and your family.
Mrs. Wallnut a.k.a (the head nut).
