    I must be nuts

LOML and I have been talking about getting a companion for our Miniature Wire Haired Daschund. Well she found one in Colville WA, a 5 1/2 month old female, which turns out to be our dogs half sister. Tomorrow we embark on an 850 mile round trip to pick her up. Going to break it up Sequim to Ellensburg Fri, Ellensburg to Colville Sat and do the same on the return.
The breeder sent us this picture.

Nice road trip Dick! Perhaps we can meet here in E'burg for a cup of coffee? Drop me an email or pm and I'll give you my cell #.

      Dick,

When our old male standard poodle died we drove from Ventura County, CA to San Diego, CA to buy an apricot standard. It was only 170 miles each way. It just seemed longer when our puppy got carsick in LOML's little Audi TT.

A couple of months later, we decided to purchase Marsh's sister, a redhead, who we named Lucy. This time we took my RAV4 and Marsh to San Diego. Both Lucy and Marsh got carsick this time.

So your 850 still beats my 680 total. May I suggest doggy dramamine.

Know how you feel. LOML has been putting pressure on to get another dog to be a playmate for Rose. So far I have resisted, haven't seen one that grabs me, so not yet. Haven't told her about Craigslist or the rescue websites either. There are sure many around with people loosing job and houses. This past week there have bee 4 dogs left at the dog park we frequent. They just put them inside the gates and let them run then disapear. So far they have all been taken home and adopted.

That sure is a cute pup, Dick. Just make the trip before the snow flies.

That's it! Our women must be talking behind our backs. LOML has been after me to get a male pup to go along with our female (she's been spayed, so no puppies).

I dunno, Dick... I'm inclined to say you're nuts, and that was before the dog thing came up...
