So we're not supposed to like the song any more? Was Father Mckenzie fictional? It's almost like you thought some special person existed around this time of year until you were 8 years old.

Come on Ed. It was a response to the Eleanor Rigby thing, give me a break. You certainly are hyper sensitive about this. I was older than 8 and I don't see why you are are so critical,. I just asked about another name mentioned in the the song, whats the beef?

Father McKenzie was a reference to Paul McCartney's father. I have two friends who are friends of Ruth McCartney, Paul's half sister, mention that reference to me. O.K. 6 degrees of separation, but that is the information told to me, and I'm sticking to it.

Lucy was the name of a person in a drawing made by Julian Lennon. Look Daddy, Lucy in the sky with diamonds. From George Martin, the Beatles producer.

What amazes me is the amount they were able to weave their day to day lives into their music in a poetic sense. Kinda different from today's lyrics, which tend to be far more direct.

Also interesting is the previous insistence that Eleanor Rigby was fictitious. But then the document shows an E. Rigby. But that doesn't explain the Eleanor, was it a lucky guess after reading the document? After all, the cemetery has an Eleanor Rigby.

Whoa! I surely didn't think it would come across that way. I was simply saying that what appeared to be, might not actually be. My apologies.
