    Roboform

Anyone tried this. It's a program that remembers all your log-in and passwords and automatically enters them with 1 click. From the reviews I've read it seems real secure but I wouldn't trust it with personal info (banking, stocks, etc) just in case. I use them for forums, news sites, throw away email accounts, etc. I've heard about it before but just got around to trying it out. I've only been using it for a while but it works well.

There's also one that works with a usb flash drive that you can take from computer to computer. Once you take out the flash drive all the info is removed.

Best of all it's free. There's a pro version you pay for but the free one works enough for me.

Been using it for years. You can set it up to require a password before it will autofill forms, and to encrypt your personal data.

    great program!

      great program!
Do you trust enough to use them on your important accounts (banking, stocks, etc)?

I use KeePass -- it's free, highly secure, portable (put it on your usb key), supports autotype/hotkey, secure clipboard handling, and lots more. Highly recommended. Oh, and did I mention free?

Edit: BTW, it has a plug-in architecture, so check out http://keepass.info/plugins.html for a bunch of plug-in features.

One more edit: Thanks to KeePass, my important online accounts all have passwords like "\.)aL&t(.D&BZ7m ,v!h9lbf>+m6w" and each one is different. Keepass even reminds me when I need to change them.

I have been using Roboform for about two years. I have had no problems and I am comfortable using it for on-line banking and bill paying. I have NOT tried snyching it with my laptop.

Alex's comments about keypass are worth investigating. All those complex passwords get hard to remember after a while (like more than two or three) so being able to snych the program with another computer could be an important consideration. Roboform does come with a snyching program, but I have not tried it.

            Regards, Steve

BTW, here's an $8 USB flash drive that will hold up to 4 GB worth of complex passwords http://www.frys.com/product/5099965

One other thing I like about keepass that I forgot to mention: You can set the number of times it encrypts your key when opening the database, which equates to a certain length of time required to open it. If it takes 2 seconds to open it, you won't notice it that much, but it'll be a heck of a lot harder for someone to guess the password with a brute force attack if they have to wait so long between tries.

I've been using Roboform for several years. I have the version that runs off a USB U3 drive so it starts up when the drive is plugged in. I have not used KeePass or the others as I am very happy with Roboform.

It will generate as complex passwords as you want for you; it also has a nice feature where you choose the site from a dropdown list and the program opens the web site and fills in the information for you. I use this every month when I am paying bills.

There's a review of 5 different password managers at http://lifehacker.com/5042616/five-b...sword-managers.
