I'm with gs on the effects. "Call you doctor if you experience (effects) that last more than 4 hours." I get (effects) that last more than 4 hours, I'm calling everyone I know!

Don't mess with the 4-hour warning - it has a real serious reason. The way vitamin V works is to reduce the ability of blood to leave the area, therefore there is very little fresh blood - and hence oxygen - entering, after 4 hours there can be tissue damage due to lack of fresh blood and oxygen.

I am not having to deal with that particular issue yet, but you can bet your bottom dollar that if that were a problem for me, I would be kicking people the heck out of my way to go get a prescription!

After the first pill, I don't think you would be kicking. Batting maybe!

I realize there ARE medical needs for this, but with all the tv advertising I see WAY to much use/want for this stuff. I get a little tired of those who need it because they can't stand their wife; want to go to Mexico and date a 14 year old hooker (50 years their junior); etc.
There ARE reasons, but I think I like Walter Matthau's response the best (when asked if he thought about trying it about five years before he died.)

My BIL, who is an MD (Family Practice) takes issue with this explanation... He says "Vitamin V" is a vascular dilator, not a constrictor. It helps blood flow into the area. The mechanism (the "check valve") that keeps it there is muscular, not vascular.

But he does concur that longer than 4 hours is definitely a problem that needs immediate attention, but stems from a medical condition unrelated to the medication.

Come on guys, I really don't care what you talk about for the most part and I can exercise my ability to not read or follow a particular post but.....This is a family forum. I'm glad my kids are all adults so I don't have to explain to children the flood of TV ads that would have you believe that 90% of males have ED or need larger members.
Just my opinion but there are certain things other than politics that would be better discussed on other forums. Pat

Thanks everybody - that's why I post here - to get perspective. I'm sorry if this is an uncomfortable topic; I had hoped the title was discreet but indicative.

Btw, I got curious and checked - boy, this sure is an expensive medication : $25 per pill?!!
I read that and loudly exclaimed - "Wow! Divorce would be cheaper!" and got a smack on the back of my head from LOML .

I think what I really need is a new WW tool a month - send my blood racing all the while. Dunno if I can sell that to her .

Divorce is NOT cheaper, take it from a voice of experience.

That might be a good plan. See if you can get some samples from the doc, when the tool shows up, pop a pill, and tell her "See it works"

You might end up with a really well stocked shop.
