We once moved into a house that came complete with about 5 all black outdoor cats. We fed them at the front door and at night I was watching them and wondered what one of them had gotten into. It had this white mark along it's back.... a few beats latter it dawned on be that it was a skunk. It and the cats sat around the food dish eating peacefully and never once sprayed. Of course we made a point out of moving the food dish further from the door. Never could get a photo of the skunk as the old Polaroid had an electronic flash and the high pitched sound it made scared the skunk off. It stayed around most of the fall and then one day failed to show up for dinner. Never saw it again and the kids walked the side roads looking to see it it had gotten hit. Fortunately they never found it.
In the linked photo I have to wonder about the person taking the picture, have to think it was a long lenses or they were far braver than I.
