    A scary thought

My wife and I had 9 kids. We have a picture of 8 of them that was taken before the last was born. It is hanging on our wall. Yesterday, I noticed my wife looking at it. Our kids were typical kids. I told her there were households all across America with pictures like that. I also told her those kids are now running the world! She thought that was a very scary thought.

I have two friends, 40 and 26, who think their parents' generation has messed things up big time.

I know the feeling on this. I work the graveyard shift at a convience store, and I get some the college students in there and they do something stupid and all I can think is either "this person is going to run the country some day" or, and this is my most scariest thought "this is the person that will be eventually teaching one or all of my children".

And most of them are having troubles counting change and standing and thinking straight, and and I believe that alcohol is involved.

Yep I'm sure that our parents and their parents felt the same way. The more things change...

BTW, 9 kids? did you have your own softball team?? I have 4 and have trouble keeping up with them and remembering their names...

Nope. Although we had some very close together, like a girl born on Dec 24, then another on Dec. 23, there is almost 20 years between the first born and the last.

They will either be accepting the Nobel Peace, making world changing decisions, or they will be asking "do you want fries with that?"

That question usually comes up right after you order a burger, coke and fries. The next question is "what kind of drink?"..

I OFTEN here this, but HOW OLD are the people we elect on average?

The "kids" (hopefully grownups and at least somewhat mature), are running free, and hopefully making a decent mark (or the other way, leave no trace behind) on the world.

Two of our kids own businesses, another is a musician, one girl is a banker, and another is a supervisor in a large company. None of the others are in jail, so I guess they became good citizens.

It's just the thought of how they once were, and now they have clout.

kids are great, you wouldn't sell them for a million dollars and you wouldn't buy a truck load of them for a dime. Right?

Ummm... at nine, not really. But a nice thought.

I dunno why everyone thinks their kids have to special and bright, the world needs bed pan changers, ditch diggers, tire re-treaders, bikini area waxers, and other menial workers. So, if your child should become one of those, congratulate yourself on filling the machine with a small, but important cog.

                            Of course, not my kids!

I told mine I tried to sell them, but the guy wanted too much to take them, so I was stuck 'em.

There is hope, mine tell me quite often that they wished they listened to my advice. Looks like they're learning something.
