    Air Show...

    ...In small scale.
One of the local airports put on a "airport day" with static display aircraft and the local model RC aircraft club. The RC club had a couple guest exhibition "pilots" that compete nationally. I'd never seen large scale RC aircraft or anyone flying stunts. It was really amazing. The guest pilots were 13, 18, and 20 years old. The 13 yo is one of the top ranked in the nation!

I know we have some RC enthusiasts so I'll share a few photos

Yowza! In that third pic at first I thought the helicopter was sitting upside down on the ground.

This one is blurry but it shows that the helo is less then 12" from the ground.

That would probably be what it looked like if I flew a heli, but not on purpose. And of course the next shot would be of the big pile of debris on the tarmac.

There are some great Youtube videos of RC aircraft, including a B-52 and a couple of 747s.

            These photos are simply amazing!

Cool pictures! Last year, there was an airshow at a local airport and our club was invited to attend. They gave us a great spot to set up and a couple of time slots to fly demos. Folks were able to get up close and really look over the models. I took the canopy off one of mine so they could all see the "innards".

I took all my helicopters, others memebers took scale, giant scale, warbirds and sport planes. I flew my scale H500D. We had 100's of people stop by and ask questions about the models, the AMA and about our club. I think all of us must have answered the 5 H's a 100 times:

                How fast do they fly?
                How far/high do they fly?
How hard are they to fly?
How hard are they to build?
                How much do they cost?

We all had a great time!!!!!!!

The REALLY good helo pilots will sometimes try the touch the head button of the main rotor to pavement while in an inverted hover. That takes GREAT skill and even more luck. NO, I'm not that skilled or that lucky!

Plane guys (plankers to us rotor heads) flying planes like the last two pictures will hang them on the prop (hover) and try to touch the tip of the tail to the gound? Again, GREAT skill involved.

Yes we did. One guy talked to me for quite awhile. I had copied a bunch of info sheets and directions to our field. He and his sons are now memebers.
