    Anniversary Dinner

Yesterday marked 35 years for the LOML and I. Because she is taking some on-line classes, we couldn't make a trip this year like we wanted. I had 35 red roses delivered and we went out to dinner last night.

Rather than buying gifts, my sons asked where we wanted to have dinner. The Kobe Steak House is on her favorites, and mine, so the boys went by there on Sunday. They set up reservations for us and the youngest left his credit card number, telling the manager to include the tips and just have me sign the bill.

    As to the roses...

In 1974 I paid a florist to deliver one red rose in a vase. In 1975 it was 2 roses, '76 brought 3 red roses...You see the pattern devloping here. Even the one year I was deployed for our anniversary, she has recieved a rose for each year. This has been the cause of envy from her girl friends and other women at restaurants when the flowers were waiting there. I still think it was a good idea, but, do you have any idea what it cost to have 35 roses arranged and delivered?!?!?!?!?

Nope. And I never will. My wife doesn't like to receive roses.

Could be worse though. It could be 36. Oh wait, that's next year....

Congratulations!!! So you've been married about as long as I've been alive then.

Delivery cost should be less per rose, statistically then getting a single rose delivered. That said, just be VERY glad your anniversary didn't fall on Valentines or Mothers day.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

Congratulations, Don, 35 years is an accomplishment!

I'm glad LOML like carnations better than roses.

Happy 35th to you and LOYL, Don. For our 35th this year I took the wife on a 5 day cruise to Bermuda. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate much. On the way there we had mild seas at 10' swells. When we got there we had a torrential downpour for half of the one full day on the island and the next day was sunny with 50 knot winds - the locals hardly noticed when I asked if this happened often. The return voyage saw 40' seas forcing the ship to slow down from 20 knots to 10 knots, putting us in port 14 hours late. We wore Scopalamine patches but into the second day of high seas they were losing their power! It was funny in a masochistic sort of way! Should have stuck t flowers.
                Blessings,
                Chiz

Congratulations Pappy. I have only gotten flowers from Mark at work a couple of times and I was the envy of the girls I worked with. But now it doesn't matter if I get flowers and gifts....I would like just a night with out the kids bugging us, so we could have dinner and maybe watch a movie.

"You're a good man Charlie Brown"! Congrats to both of you.....it's not all that common in this day and age, and anniversaries with those types of numbers usually only come around once! Well done.

It was 26 for us this past August.
