    Snowman! Got your ears on?

Jerry Reed, aka Snowman from Smokey and the Bandit put the hammer down for the last time.
    RIP Snowman.

Too bad. I really liked him. There was a lot of talent.

The "Guitar Man" is now silent.

Little known fact is that when Elvis recorded his version of Reed's "Guitar Man", it was Jerry playing the guitar licks.

He will be missed by the country music world.

I remember his hit songs from the early 1970's. I was never a big enough fan to know his musical history though.
Was thoroughly astounded reading his musical bio. CMA Musician of the year in 1970 and 1971. 1970 Grammy for Best Country Instrumental Performance, 1971 Grammy for Best Male Country Vocal Performance.

And oh yeah, some picker named Chet Atkins thought Jerry was the better of the two. He will be missed by not only the country music world and but many musicians of all kinds.
                Amazing talent.

He was definitely an original. Sad to hear of his passing. Although I'm no country music fan, I really liked "When you're hot, you're hot" and "Amos Moses".
