    Tacos and Camper Shells

We've located a used camper shell for our brand new '08 Tacoma that appears to be the right size. However it apparently came off a '04 Tacoma and I'm trying to figure out whether and how it attaches to ours.

Does anyone have a '99-04 Tacoma and if so, do the older Tacomas have rails like these?

Are you sure it'll fit? The Tacoma's got bigger in '05...I'd assume that included bed width.

I recently bought an '08 as well. If you haven't already found it, there's a decent forum: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=61
that will answer a lot of questions (there's actually several forums...this is the only one I found where all the members aren't obsessed with "modding" their trucks with lift kits and jumbo tires).

      Thanks Mike.

Turns out after driving for three hours to see it, the shell we had hoped to buy was obviously too small. Although I'd prefer to buy used, we'll probably spring for a new one that matches "radiant red", otherwise known as tomato red.

Now the choice is between aluminum and fiberglass. After that decision, we pick a manufacturer.
