    I was kind of thinking along those lines. Only using small trusses, upside down, made of 1 x 2. Sort of like a bridge. Then setting them on some sawhorses and doing a lot of shimming and praying. Then I'll lay a sheet of MDF down and... heck that's a workbench right there, no need to make anything more...

    When I am done the MDF can become the sacrificial top.

    I mentioned this to a neighbor and he asked, do you sacrifice the top or is that where you sacrifice that nice wood you buy?
