    HUD/MMI Refunds

My wife got a letter in the mail last week offering to process her refund from the MMI paid on her FHA loan for 20% of the refund amount. Despite that the fee was not payable until she got the refund I smelled a scam and did a little research. It turns out the program is valid, the scam is that they are charging 20-30% fee for what amounts to you calling HUD and asking for your refund.

If you've had an FHA loan that was paid in full before term and did not get a refund on your MMI insurance, go here to see if you are eligible, then you can call HUD and get the process started.

Mighty nice of you to post that info, David. With so many things going on in our lives it's easy to forget that we have something coming to us if we only ask.

      RE: HUD/MMI Refunds

I too got the same notice from the MMI stating some amount is refundable. But i got the notice one month back, but i don't know whether am i eligible for the MMI or not. I have checked the above site from that i have got confidence about MMI. can I expect that they can do favor me to get back some amount.

I guess you don't know if you don't ask and it looks like you did, Steve. Good luck on that. And, by the way, welcome to the forum. Good folks and good info here!!
