    Best Olympic commercials?

    I haven't seen any yet that are better than some in the past.

    But IMHO the best so far are;

    1. The Samurai airplane

    2. The bird's delayed takeoff due to ground traffic

    3. The Greek discus thrower that destroys the building (is that the Parthenon BTW?)

    Any others?

    Those were all great but my favorite so far is the United Airlines one that was on today.

      Are there any links to online viewing, as is available in viewing Super Bowl commercials?

        Yep, that's the Parthenon. It's not historically accurate, though. The discus thrower should be nude.

          First time I saw that discus thrower demolishing the Parthenon I thought it was going to be one of those Southwest Airlines "Wanna get away?" ads.

          The birds delayed takeoff is great too.

            could not find the flight ad;

            Lenovo : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRPuu6pw5zY
            (personally, I found that ad a bit silly, because I was only puzzling about the connection till i saw it a second time, and it still seemed a stretch)

            Discus Throw : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULx0I0Pogo8
            and yes, in this case not knowing what the ad was about till the end was amusing

            on the other hand, anybody else feel this ad was a shameless attempt at 'reflected glory'? of course, the video (and commentary) itself is great, other than the final tag where it all seems to be Visa's achievement !

                Thanks for the links. I really miss the humorous US commercials!

                  What really surprises me is the lack of diversity of the commercials. Seems like I've been watching the same 5 or 6 commercials all week

                      On the other hand, I am dismayed by all the policital ads on during the Olympics. Especially the negative ones.

                      I would have hoped we could have had a "politics-free" zone for a week or 2. Except maybe for the inevitable "good guys" of the western democracies vs. the hormonally enhanced (ah, fond memories of the East German "ladies") and chronologically inappropriate entries from the communist bloc.
