    My Wife's Website

Tell me what you think. It is a work in progress. The links in the middle at the bottom all work but I am learning style sheets as I go and need to update the style sheet to format the links properly so I can use that style on other pages.

Also, please don't actually press the 'send' button. It is functional but the php code will send her weird messages - still need to update that too.

It looks like a good start. Are you "hand coding" or using a package?

I noticed a couple of things.

    1. Some of the alignment in the headers need tweaking
    2. If it were me I would bring the Nav bar out of the header. WIth the current design horizontal would work best. This makes for a clearner header and allows for more real estate around the logo which you should never cramp. The general rule is to keep a border of at least half the size of the logo around it. In your case I would estimate the logo is approx 200 x 50px so I would make sure I had at least a 25px border. It does depend on the overall size but it should stand out.
    3. As with all design its open to individuality but I wouldnt mix serif and sans serif fonts on the same page e.g. the links in the lower half look like they are in Times whereas the rest of the page is using Arial or Verdana.

    Lastly

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS make it clear how they contact you and preferably include Name, Location, Phone and even an email (or contact form) link on the home page somewhere.

No wonder you're a picture of physical perfection. Hey, I read the "Who is Sandi Green?" Isn't it supposed to say the wife of Davey Crokett.

        Jon,

Thanks for the comments. I will move the nav bar but it still has to pass approval from the boss. This is a mix of hand-coding and using Dreamweaver. It started out as handcoding and is now handcoding when I get frustrated with Dreamweaver.

I will fix the fonts. It was late last night and I wanted to get something up to see how it looked in real time. I will add the contact link back. I am not sure exactly where it went.

LOL - as your post came in I am sitting here getting frustrated with Dreamweaver.

I excel at concept and design and enjoy doing that but I hate actually building sites. I try as much as I can to farm that out but some clients only want a small amount of work and its not usually cost effective to get somebody else to do the work.

Dreamweaver is one of the best packages to use but just like all Adobe products is far from easy to get to grips with the tools unless you use them every day.

Aside from a typo (SHe in the sentence "SHe began as a scholarship athlete at Beloit College") and the rather garish color, looks fine to me!

Looks nice, but you need to add a bunch of pix of the wife in painted on workout gear so potential recruits will have a goal.
