    Combining 2 hobbies...

If I'm on a shopping trip, I don't want to have to carry my helmet around.

A piece of 3/4" marine ply (4 coats of wipe-on poly), 2 x 3/4" conduit brackets, 6 x felt squares, 3 x door stops. The slot fits over a plastic clip which holds the (spring-loaded) carrier down.

That's very cool, Rod. With my twisted sense of humor, I'd probably opt for a platform with a mannequin head mounted on it to store my helmet...

Use a skull with a yellow light in each eye and wire it for turn signals

        You read my mind

I DID think about that, but realized it would look silly when the helmet wasn't on it

          Rod,

Even your bike is shiny and clean, I dare you to show us some part of your home or life that isnt this way. You must have something thats messy

                  That's neat!

If you are ever so inclined, you could upgrade it so the base allows you to place different types of carriers on it quickly. Like, one could be the helmet caddy. You could have another one that is a box for carrying small parcels. And yet another one that could carry your camera gear. And extra points if they can stack so you can use several at a time.
