I've got a 6'x8' heavy dark green canvas that got soiled pretty bad while using it as a SUV bed protector hauling sod. I was going to lay it out on the patio and scrub it with detergent and a floor broom and a hose. If it had or has any water repellent treatment, it likely doesn't anymore after years of use outdoors.
My thoughts were to just throw it into the wash machine and let air dry. That seemed better than driving dirt into the fibers by scrubbing. Any thoughts on the best way to clean it?
