    IE7 question

Over the last week or two, my Windows XP laptop started doing something really annoying and I can't figure out how to fix it. When in Internet Explorer 7, anytime a page opens in a new window, the window is really skinny. No matter what I try, it opens the same way every time. What do I need to do to get this to stop? I'm really tired of resizing the window every time I visit a new page.

Try resizing the window, then closing IE. Close the window you resized last. When I had this problem that fixed it.

After resizing the window hold the shift key while you close the window. The next time it should open to your resized size.

I don't mind hearing it, but keep it to yourself if it stinks.

Thanks. I will try these suggestions when I get home tonight. I called LOML and had her try, but the computer kept locking up when she would try to close Explorer.

Do a virus scan first - you may have a browser-grabbing infection.

So far nothing has worked. McAfee didn't find a virus and neither suggestion worked for fixing the problem. I tried closing Explorer with the popup window resized or maximized and I tried holding the shift key while closing the window. It still opens a window 4" wide.

EDIT: After trying the suggestions again and then rebooting before restarting Explorer, it appears to have fixed the problem. Thanks guys!!!
