Lawn tractor burns oil, now what?

Thanks everybody, a lot of food for thought. I checked at Northern, comparable engines are in the $500 range. I have yet to check into the rebuild pricing, don't expect it to be favorable.

I'll probably end up buying a case of oil and use that thing until it dies on me.
