I'm an audio book fan . . . but only use them when on trips or commutes. I find them particularly appropriate when the locale is foreign to me, and where the speakers' accents add greatly to the flavor of the book. I listened to one of the Harry Potter books on tape, all characters voiced by the stellar Stephen Fry, and it was superb. Another good one was "Reading Lolita in Teheran".
