Not too many do infrared anymore, RF and bluetooth is the standard. I had an old infrared mouse once. That line of sight thing was a PIA.

I use the standard layout keyboard made
by MICRO, (it's one of those cheap systems). It and the mouse are both wireless (RF) and have been used for the past 3 years. The mouse batteries last about 3 months, whereas the keyboard for a year or so. The keys offer just slight resistance which is good, and the only noise is the regular sounds of the keys being struck. The ergo I tried some time back just didn't fell nature.Comment

I chose mine because of the price and the hotkeys on the top. other than that I feel they are all the same. If you want a silent one I hear the dell silent key keyboards are among the few good dell products.AlexComment
