I have a 1968 vintage Rolex Submariner 2-tone, black face. Runs and looks like a new one... Never let me down even once. They know watches in Switzerland... Note: I do not wear it in the shop, but have worn it just about everywhere else, including snorkeling.

When I'm working I don't wear any jewelery, my cell phone is my timepiece.
Any other time I usually wear a Citizen Eco-Drive. It's pretty cool; solar powered perpetual calendar (it auto adjusts), alarm, chrono...
My other watches are an older basic Seiko quartz and an old Waltham pocket watch. They belonged to my grandfathers.

A part on the stem broke and so far I haven't found anyone who could fix it.

You can send it in to Seiko and they'll fix it. I sent the above mentioned watch in after it went through the washer and drier. They rebuilt it to like new condition. Any Seiko dealer should be able to send it in for you.

My Pocket Watch doubles as a cell phone, I expect it will soon be small enough to fit the watch pocket of my 501's. Wrist watches last a few months and then die for me. If I don't mechanically destroy it, it will mysteriously stop working. Even had an Eddie Bauer Watch start running backwards! The Timex watch you could program from the computer was great till it stopped being programmable and insisted on replaying all the alarms at random times. For several years I had a thin shirt pocket calculator with time and alarm functions, worked great until I put it in the wrong pocket and sat on it.

I work with rotating machinery all the time. Over the last 30 years I have gotten into the habit of having nothing on my wrists and no rings. I do have watches yet I seldom wear them.

While working in the shop I badly cut my finger with my new wedding ring (years and years ago) I quite wearing rings, watches and any other jewelery.

My time piece is the display on the cell phone that easily slips in my pocket.

Put me in the cell phone as a watch category. I spend a lot of time in the sun and I suppose my vanity led me to quit wearing one. Never cared for the tanline, though for some reason my farmer's tan doesn't bother me, go figure.

When I did wear a watch I went through several expensive ones before settling on a pocket watch. I went through Citizens, Timex, Seiko, Bulova and probably a few others before changing to a pocket watch. Then I started looking at my Blackberry instead of the watch because it was more convenient, so I quit carrying it.

I wear an el-cheapo Timex dial watch most of the time. For dress I have three pocket watches-- a gold Bulova (?) that an ex-gf gave me way back when (I hardly ever wear that one--LOML would kill me!), a silver railroad watch that belonged to my grandfather, and #1 Son just brought me a Russian pocket watch from the Bolshoi Theatre. The instructions are in Russian, so I've not a clue what they say. OTOH, it's a windup pocket watch, so what's to know?

I don't wear any sort of watch in the shop, so I guess I should build Nahm's shop clock some day...

I never think of looking at my cell phone.

I also have my first Timex watch from when I was four or five (birthday present).
For years, I had Casio's, that I don't think I ever gave over $10 for. Normally the bands got cut working on something.
Then I got (a gift) a nice Seiko. I wore it for years, till on the same day the band and battery both died.
Then I started wearing one of two inherited watches. One was a pocket watch, (no face cover though) and one is a fully automatic, self winder (don't remember the name right now). I have it put up in a Rolex box, a friend/former Rolex serviceperson, gave me.
Around that time, my B-i-l, joined the police force, and noted that most of them were wearing Casio G shocks. That is what I went with next, and now have three as friends who "want a different model like the metal version" tend to give me them.

I have a gold Seiko that I bought in 1973 that keeps perfect time as long as it's worn to keep it wound. My other is a stainless steel Seiko. I have found that since retiring I don't need to be concerned about time and don't wear either one. I always have my cell phone with me if I realy must know the time.

Mention of pocket watches reminds me that I omitted this 50th. birthday present from Jean, bought during a visit to Richmond, VA.

This is a "very special occasions only" timepiece, but it keeps good time when wound.

20+ years ago I wore a od green swatch, it matched my camies quite well. For a dress watch I had a Mickey Mouse Seiko.

When I got out I quit wearing a watch, now my watch is a Blackberry 8310
