    Kapex of Cragislist

Didn't expect to see one of these on CL. He's got 2 of 'em, wish I had his problems.

Thats interesting as you would think that for something of that value he could just return one or the other.

That is a nice tool but for the price you could buy 2 1/2 Bosch sliders or a whole passel of non-sliding CMS's. IMO only an absolute perfectionist professional WWer or an amateur with TMM (too much money) could justify getting one. Same with all Festool tools, unfortunately.

Haha don't go to some other forums with that opinion or you'd get totally flamed. Glad BT3 is a more civilized forum.

I actually think some of Festool's products are justified in their prices, like the domino. I personally don't have that kind of money to spend on it but if I did I'd definitely get one. But I agree the Kapex doesn't seem to have so many improvements over what's already on the market to justify the cost.

Those were my thoughts, exactly. Sounds a little fishy.

                Hi all,
We had an interesting issue with a guy advertising Festools on eBay recently, at ridiculous prices. One person ordered a planer and received a brick in a box!
If it seems too good to be true, then it probably is.

                Regards,

                Rob

The good thing about CL (and why I use it over ebay) is you can see the item and check it out before you buy. And it's only a little over $100 discount from retail. If I wanted to buy a Kapex, it wouldn't be enough to keep me from buying retail. Thanks for the heads up though. A while back I read someone buying a plasma and finding bricks as well. It was supposedly a new TV, NIB, never opened. The thing that got me was it was from CL as well and why didn't he didn't open and check, regardless if it was supposed to be brand new.

                    Several Scams happen via CL.

People don't open and check things out (this may have his old Green Hitachi, so they open and see green and think, OK.
People expect you to show up with cash, then someone comes out and robs you.
(they don't use their own location)
                    People sell stolen stuff.
People PREsell stolen stuff (line up a buyer then steal it)
This does say to me, too good to be true.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

I think it is a scam of some kind. The showing up with cash and being robbed concerned me a few weeks ago when I bought some airline vouchers. I met the guy at a Starbucks and insisted it be inside the restaurant.
